Andrzej Kensbok, KGHM: Strategię zrównoważonego rozwoju prowadzimy od wielu lat

The starting point for considerations on sustainable development goals is the “2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development” adopted by the UN in 2015. Kukołowicz, P., Leszczyński, P., Mądry, T., Ogórek, S. (2024), Realizacja celów zrównoważonego rozwoju w polskim biznesie, Polski Instytut Ekonomiczny, Warszawa.

The key role of business in the process of achieving the SDG goals makes monitoring the activities of companies to implement the 2030 Agenda very important. A barrier related to this is the lack of data enabling the assessment of the way in which companies are involved in achieving the goals. Survey data based on declarations can be considered only a starting point in this respect. A proper assessment of the level of involvement of companies must be based on financial and personnel data, the availability of which is currently very limited. The CSRD directive coming into force may change this state of affairs and provide better access to important areas of company involvement. The coming months and years will show to what extent the hopes placed in the directive will be fulfilled.
